The monte44 team warmly welcomes you! In our family-run hotel in Selva Gardena, we are pleased to accommodate you with a picturesque view of our beautiful village, comfortable rooms, a friendly atmosphere and a nearby bus stop from where you can set on hikes or ski tours.
Only two minutes away from the village centre, our small hotel is equally close to nature yet conveniently located.

The first lifts in Val Gardena will open on 14 May 2026 and the last lifts will close at the beginning of November 2026.

Active Summer Programme
Once again, Hotel Monte44 has joined the weekly ‘Val Gardena Active’ programme, which offers an active holiday in Val Gardena from a completely new perspective, in addition to hiking. You can rediscover the summer countryside around Val Gardena through a personalised holiday programme. In addition to trekking and cycling, the experiences also include environmental education and provide insights into Ladin culture and customs, with particular consideration for families and children. Modern hiking with a local certified hiking guide or mountain bike guide is not just about climbing mountains and visiting alpine pastures, but about deepening an awareness of the importance and value of personal contact with nature.
Relax your body and mind
Leave everyday life far behind and use our wellness area to relax your body and finally put your mind to rest. Sweat in the sauna after your bike tour, enjoy the warm and humid air in the steam bath or the pleasantly warm bubbling water of our outdoor whirlpool after hiking or make yourself comfortable with a book on one of the loungers in our relaxation area.
Our services include the hotel's car park, a sun terrace, a lift, ski boot dryer, ski room and a Guest Pass, which allows you to use public transport for free.
New is the partly free participation in the "Val Gardena Active" program
We also have another convenience for those who drive an electric car. Charging quickly and conveniently is easy because there is a fast charging station 350 mt from the Hotel monte44 at the Selva House of Culture near the Post offices
Breakfast
In our small, family-run Hotel monte44, you can start your holiday day with a first-class breakfast: our gourmet healthy breakfast with locally sourced ingredients offers something for every taste. Whether gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian or international – everyone will find their favourite dishes here. Even late risers have the option of enjoying their breakfast until 10.00 am.
Bar service and delicious evening meals
To round off a busy day in style, you can relax on the hotel’s sun terrace and enjoy a good cup of coffee with homemade cakes, as well as a variety of drinks and aperitifs. We also offer a small menu of local specialities from 6.30 pm to 8.15 pm, subject to advance booking (by 4 pm).
Your active holiday in Val Gardena
Val Gardena attracts guests to the untouched beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site at all times of the year. In summer, you can set off on hikes, walks and mountain bike tours directly from Hotel monte44. In winter, you have access to the magnificent Dolomiti Superski ski area with an enormous variety of slopes of all levels of difficulty.
Thanks to the ideal location of our small hotel and the nearby bus stop, leaving the car behind on holiday is no problem.
How to reach us
Val Gardena can be reached using the Brenner Motorway (A 22). Coming from north, follow the route Innsbruck - Brennero - Chiusa. Coming from south, follow Verona - Trento - Bolzano. Take the Chiusa/Val Gardena exit. Following the well-marked roads, you should reach Selva Gardena in about 30 minutes.
Shortly before the village centre of Selva, there is a bridge on your right. From here you can already see the Hotel monte44, which is just to the left of the bridge.
Travelling in winter: to avoid problems on snow-covered roads we suggest winter tyres or snow chains.
